Published by Shrewsbury Ramblers the 20 walks is in full colour with easy to follow directions and good maps.
The 20 walks include features of architectural, historical or geological interest. At the bargain price of £4.99 it is ideal for families and for visitors to the Shrewsbury area. Here is the feedback from one recent purchaser!
Hello Shrewsbury Ramblers, I wanted to say a massive thank you for publishing your book of 20 local walks again - we bought a copy in Jan '21 and have completed all 20 walks and wanted to send a missive of appreciation. The walks are all amazingly good, varied and fun and obviously have benefited us all during lockdown, vaccine time and all the uncertainties of the first half of this year. The mental health benefits of being out in nature are well known but your work has enabled us to have options, structure, a challenge, gain greater local knowledge, exercise and a chance to meet like-minded people. We know of several other couples who have also completed all the walks. It has deffo benefitted our marriage, our family, friends and community. I would urge you to seek out new routes and recce and publish asap as I think we all have an inkling that lockdowns are not over yet. Exemplary work from you lot. Cap doffed. I have been meaning to send this email for months and have finally sat down and done it now. From the bottom of my heart - thank you.
Kind Regards
Jeremy Bolwell
The author believes all walks can be completed with reference to the directions in the book and the waymarkers situated around the routes.
General Point to all walks:
All the walks are frequently checked and maintained/improved by Shrewsbury Ramblers Footpath Maintenance Team for the benefit of all walkers, some features (stiles replaced by kissing gates etc.) may change over time but does not detract from following the route.
Since the time of first printing this Walks Book some hostelries mentioned may have changed hands or ceased trading. Most walks are not reliant on these businesses for parking but may not be available for refreshment.
Any significant changes to a walk are listed below, there is also a link listing minor changes for each walk as an additional help for walkers
