Oswald's Trail is a 13 mile walking route around Oswestry using existing footpaths which have been improved and, in some cases, opened up after years of being unused.

The booklet is also available free from various places such as Tourist Information Centres and local libraries.
The trail is a complete circuit of Oswestry taking in many of the important historical points of interest along the way. Whilst the total route is 13 miles in length, it is divided into 5 easily accomplished sections so that the walk can be undertaken in stages and so should be within the capability of most walkers of average fitness. In this revised guide there is an alternative shorter route along the railway line from Wilfred Owen Green in the east section which reduces the total length of the walk to approximately 11 miles. The route description in this guide describes the clockwise circuit, but it can be walked in either direction. There are waymarkers throughout.
Starting at the bus station, the route goes along the east side of the town and then heads out into open countryside, taking in Llanforda, Bwlch, the Old Racecourse, Brogyntyn Park, and Oswestry Old Hill Fort. The route links with Offa’s Dyke path and Wat’s Dyke path.
