Local Advocacy and Casework Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the casework, advice and legal function at Britain’s biggest walking charity. As Local Advocacy and Casework Officer, you will help deliver a major two-year project to improve our effectiveness at influencing local policy and practice through voluntary action. You will support our volunteers to advocate for a country designed for walking, from providing advice and guidance on issues relating to paths and access, to engaging with local authority teams working on public rights of way and planning. This is a new role, and an exciting time to join the Ramblers’ team. You will make a lasting and tangible impact on the future success of the charity, and to help us achieve our ambition of a country designed for walking.

This role is in our Policy and Advocacy Team.

Salary: £35,000-£38,000 depending on experience

Local Advocacy Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the legal, casework and advice function at Britain’s biggest walking charity. This is a new role, and a great time to join the Ramblers’ team. As Local Advocacy Manager, you will lead a major two-year project to improve our effectiveness at influencing local policy and practice through voluntary action. As well as playing an important volunteer management role, you will lead the development of our legal strategy and find new ways to engage with local authorities. This is a great opportunity to make a lasting and tangible impact on the future success of the charity, and to help us achieve our ambition of a country designed for walking.

This is senior role is our Policy and Advocacy Team, with management responsibility for three members of staff.

Salary: £45,000-£48,000 depending of experience

Short Group Walks Delivery Officer

The Ramblers Walking for Health programme supports local partners to deliver group walks and has been hugely successful in helping people get and stay active. The programme has a new funder and is undergoing a significant transformation to make it more effective, integrated with others Ramblers activity, and sustainable. You will act as a link between the national team and local short group walk partners, supporting the work of our partners and helping them through a period of significant change

Short Group Walks Programme Manager

The Ramblers Walking for Health programme supports local partners to deliver group walks and has been hugely successful in helping people get and stay active. The programme has a new funder and is undergoing a significant transformation to make it more effective, integrated with others Ramblers activity, and sustainable. You will work with colleagues, senior management, partners & stakeholders to help us establish and transition to a sustainable new business model, as well as working with the Senior Deliver Officer to oversee ongoing operations.

Contract: 18 month fixed term
Salary: £40,000-45,000 pa (depending on experience)

You will work with two delivery officers reporting to you, acting as the link between the national team and local short group walk partners, supporting the work of those partners and helping them through a period of significant change.

Salary: £36,000 - 40,000 pa (depending on experience)
