Member satisfaction survey 2025 - highlights 

Back in September, we invited you to share your thoughts in our annual Member Satisfaction Survey and nearly 4,000 of you responded. A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to give us your feedback. 

Here’s what you told us: 
 

Your overall experience 

We’re thrilled to report that 86% of you are satisfied or very satisfied with your Ramblers membership. That’s fantastic news and a real testament to the strength of our walking community.  
 

What you love most about being a Ramblers member 

• Group walks – 72%
• Discovering new routes – 63%
• Meeting people and socialising – 63%
• Supporting the work of the Ramblers – 60% 
   

Your favourite member benefits 

• Access to group walks – 77%
• Your membership magazine Walk – 75%
• Our online routes library – 63%
• Monthly member e-newsletter – 59% 

Group walks 

An incredible 71% of you joined a group walk last year, and the feedback is really positive: 

• 93% had a positive experience
• 96% feel safe
• 93% enjoy the walks
• 92% would recommend them to others
• 91% feel welcome 

• 82% say it’s easy to find a walk 

   

And the benefits go beyond the walk itself: 

• 77% say it’s improved your wellbeing
• 75% feel more connected to nature
• 70% say it’s deepened your love of walking 

But we also know that not all members walk with Ramblers groups. 66% of those prefer self-guided walks, often using our Ramblers Routes. 

 

Making a difference together 

• 83% of you believe we’ve increased access to the countryside
• 82% say we’ve opened up the path network for more people
• 80% agree our volunteers have improved the path network
