Whether you’re getting your steps in on your stairs, your garden or your neighbourhood streets, we’re inviting walkers all across the country to join us every Wednesday lunchtime on a solo walk, joining together in spirit, followed in true Ramblers style by a Tea and cake social at 2pm on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #RoamSweetHome.
We'll be sharing activities to add some interest to your walks, that we can all do together - can you spot 8 rainbows? What wildlife can you see and can you name it? Are there any specific points of interest along the way? We want to see your photos!
For those of you heading outdoors for a short local exercise walk, please stay safe and up to date with our guidance and remember to:
- Walk locally
- Walk alone or with people from your household
- Avoid touching gates, fences etc.
- Wash your hands when you get home
- Keep 2 metres apart from others

We know Ramblers walks are as much about the post-walk cake and social as they are about the walking! So we’re inviting everyone to grab yourself a post-walk cuppa and a slice of homemade cake (we hear banana bread is very popular) and connect with your fellow walkers on social media.
Share your walks with us! We’ll be taking to social media to share your pictures of the rainbows found, wildlife spotted and fun moments experienced on your walk. We’re also looking for shots of your prize homemade cake – we know we have some superb bakers in our Ramblers family! Don’t forget to add the hashtag #RoamSweetHome
and tag @RamblersGB
on Twitter and Instagram or @Ramblers
If you know anyone in your group that doesn’t use social media, this is also a nice time to pick up the phone and reach out to them or join an online group call.
