This summer we’re running the #FeelMore challenge, celebrating the freedom to enjoy walking properly for the first time in months!
As the days are longer and the weather is brighter, now is your chance to head out for those long summer hikes in the hills or gentle strolls along the coast.
Whether you're broadening your horizon in the Scottish Munros, chasing the glow of those summer sunsets or taking extra moments to stop and listen to the sounds of the forest or a nearby stream, we want to see how you #feelmore this summer and we have teamed up with Cotswold Outdoor to offer some fantastic weekly prizes to be won!
With a new theme each week to inspire us all to get outside and enjoy the full sensory experience of walking in nature, there are plenty of chances to get outside and get involved. Send us your photos and videos and each week and our #FeelMore ambassadors will be picking their favourite entry to win a fantastic prize to take on your walks.
Embrace the elements
Pack your raincoats! It's going to be a 'four seasons in one day' kind of walking week, but nothing can stop us enjoying a walk this summer as we embrace the elements, come rain or shine!
This week’s theme is Embrace the Elements and we couldn't think of a better judge to pick the winner this week than the all-weather adventure queen herself, Ramblers #FeelMore Ambassador Jo Moseley.
"Embracing the elements has definitely been my approach to getting outdoors in Yorkshire since I was a little girl! From muddy autumnal walks with my Dad in the Dales, to windy hikes along the cliffs of the Cleveland way, overlooking the North Sea with my sons, the weather plays its own special part in the memory. Wind, rain, snow or sunshine add to the experience.
Embracing what is, rather than what we might want on a hike is the key to finding joy and living in the moment. Make sure you have the right gear and boots for safety, then let the sight, smells and feel of the elements bring you that extra experience.
Jump in the puddles, feel the warmth of the sun on your back and watch the moody, misty views... you'll come home feeling alive, nourished and grateful for all that nature has to offer. Enjoy and embrace the elements!"
Joy encourager and midlife adventurer, you can always find Jo outside on a #FeelMore adventure, with a big smile on her face, no matter the weather! Follow Jo's adventures on twitter and Instagram @healthyhappy50.
Take yourself on an all-weather adventure this week and tag @ramblersgb and #FeelMore in your posts and stories for a chance to win a Sea to Summit 13L dry sack from Cotswold Outdoor. The perfect companion for all of your adventures on those very British, very wet days!
