This summer we’re running the #FeelMore challenge, celebrating the freedom to enjoy walking properly for the first time in months!
As the days are longer and the weather is brighter, now is your chance to head out for those long summer hikes in the hills or gentle strolls along the coast.
Whether you're broadening your horizon in the Scottish Munros, chasing the glow of those summer sunsets or taking extra moments to stop and listen to the sounds of the forest or a nearby stream, we want to see how you #feelmore this summer and we have teamed up with Cotswold Outdoor to offer some fantastic weekly prizes to be won!
With a new theme each week to inspire us all to get outside and enjoy the full sensory experience of walking in nature, there are plenty of chances to get outside and get involved. Send us your photos and videos and each week and our #FeelMore ambassadors will be picking their favourite entry to win a fantastic prize to take on your walks.
Take a moment
It's often too easy to get caught up in how far we are walking, how high we are climbing, the route we are taking or those wonderful conversations we're having, that we can forget to take time to appreciate the beauty of where we are actually walking. This week's theme is to remind you to take a moment outdoors to let your mind wander and your spirits soar this summer.
We're challenging you to find a moment on your walks this week to stop and appreciate the sights, sounds and smells of nature around you. Take off your boots when you walk by a lake and feel the cool water on your skin, close your eyes and listen to the soothing sounds of the forest or sit a little longer to truly appreciate the view. We'd love to hear about your experiences of taking moments this week! Tag @ramblersgb and #FeelMore in your posts and stories for a chance to Win a LifeSystems Camping First Aid kit from Cotswold Outdoor!
"Stop for a moment and take in the view. It's not all about the walking." - Glyn Dodwell
Judging this week's challenge competition is Ramblers #FeelMore Ambassador, Glyn Dodwell. An award winner blogger and Outdoor Personality of the Year Nominee, Glyn has been a hill walker since he was a teenager and has been teaching, encouraging and inspiring people to get outside for over 50 years. You can usually find Glyn hugging trigs across the UK and spreading the message "You can never be too old for the hills!". Follow Glyn's #FeelMore adventures this summer on his blog.
