The Llanelli Ramblers paused on their walk along the Cambrian Way in June to honour its creator.
A bench was unveiled in memory of Tony Drake MBE, lifelong Ramblers member and countryside advocate, who died last year, aged 89. Tony dedicated his life to developing the path network in England and Wales and was involved in the planning of the Cambrian Way.
Over 60 fellow Ramblers from all around Wales, The Cambrian Mountain Society and the YHA celebrated his life in one of his favourite places. The bench designed by North Wales Sculptor, Mike Owens is located at Tyncornel YHA, for walkers to enjoy for many years to come.
Most attending the ceremony had started the day at Soar Chapel, Soar y Mynydd, meeting for a circular walk to Tyncornel hostel. The walk continues through the summer and they welcome new walkers.
