Great family photo wins Scramblers competition

Stackpole competition winner

We ran a competition this summer to celebrate the launch of our first ever family walking pack featuring the National Trust Stackpole estate, one of a series of Scramblers walking packs we’ve created to encourage more families to get out and enjoy a walk in the Welsh countryside.

We asked families to tell us what they loved about their walk at Stackpole in Pembrokeshire after using the walking pack to explore the area, which includes a nature reserve, by sending us a message or a photo summing up their walking adventures as a family.

Rachel Scott and her family’s brilliant photo (seen above, right) won the competition. They’ve really enjoyed using our family walking pack, taking the Toddle Waddle and the Wellie Wander, two of the trails in the free pack available to all visitors to Stackpole.

“With the changing of the times and the influences of modern technology it is nice to take both the children away from all these influences and encourage them to enjoy and interact with the natural environment around us which can be just as exciting and enjoyable as any computer game, plus we are experiencing it as a family.” said Rachel.

The Scramblers walking packs are part of a series produced around South Wales, which also include Glyncorrwg in the Afan Forest Park and the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, with some of our partner organisations.
