Volunteer awards: Still time to make your nomination

Mike Slater accepts the Campaigner Award

Mike Slater from the Isle of Wight Ramblers accepts the Campaigner Award from President Kate Ashbrook at the 2013 Awards

If you know of a Ramblers volunteer, group or area whose achievements deserve celebrating you can help give them the recognition they deserve by nominating them for our volunteer awards by 16 February.

From creating an innovative walks programme to coordinating a path maintenance team to helping promote the work of the Ramblers, our volunteers work hard throughout the year and our President’s Volunteer Awards are an opportunity to reward them.

Nominations are now open and run until 16 February. Ramblers President Kate Ashrbook will then choose finalists in each category and online voting will begin on 24 February. The winners will be announced at General Council on 29 March.

Barry Pottle

I have been nominated (without my knowledge) for a President's Volunteer Award under the Running the Ramblers category. Please amend my profile on the website to remove from the last paragraph the sentence "He has helped take a struggling area and revitalise it.", as this is inaccurate.

Thanks Barry, that change has been made. Many congratulations on being nominated!
