Angela Penny from Aberdeen scooped the top prize in Ramblers Scotland’s Get Outdoors Competition, which encouraged everyone to get out for a walk this August and submit a photo of their adventures. You can see some of the best submissions here, and maybe find some inspiration for your own walking or photography.
Winning the prize draw, Angela was presented with a voucher for a two night stay for two, in the world famous 5 star Gleneagles Hotel. Angela first got into walking in 2009 when working for a firm of solicitors; they were putting a team together for the Wolftrek, a 45-mile walking challenge from Forres to Cairngorm ski centre, and she agreed to take on the challenge. Since then she has become an avid walker and loves walking in Royal Deeside and the west coast of Scotland. She absolutely loved doing the West Highland Way and is now planning to walk the East Highland Way and walk up Ben Nevis. She has now joined Aberdeen Young Walkers and is looking forward to plenty more walking adventures with them.
