The National Farmers’ Union’s ‘Love Your Countryside’ drive is encouraging people to get outdoors and enjoy the British countryside responsibly this week and beyond.
Part of the Farming Delivers for Britain campaign, the ‘Love Your Countryside’ initiative aims to educate people and raise awareness of sheep worrying and dog attacks on livestock in a bid to reduce the number of incidents that occur.
You can find out about dos and don’ts for walking near farm animals, especially with dogs, as well as about the Countryside Code and Scottish Outdoor Access Code in our advice for walkers section.
And if you're keen to put your responsible walking knowledge into practice and get inspired for your next rural ramble, take a look at our online collection of walking routes which features over 670 countryside routes.
You can also show your support for ‘Love Your Countryside’ week at www.facebook/farmingdelivers and enter the competition for the chance to win some GO Outdoors vouchers.
