Objection to plans for golf course in beautiful Highland dunes

Pic by Andrew Weston

We’ve lodged a formal objection against plans to build an 18-hole golf course on beautiful dunes at Coul Links at Embo, near Inverness.

Ramblers Scotland is one of several environmental organisations – including RSPB Scotland, Scottish Wildlife Trust, Buglife, Butterfly Conservation, Marine Conservation Society and Plantlife – all calling for the proposals to be rejected by The Highland Council.

We have many concerns about the planning application, which we believe would:

  • damage views and the character of the natural, unspoilt dunes
  • remove the area’s wild qualities for those enjoying walks and other outdoor recreation
  • fail to sufficiently recognise rights of public access
  • impact a core path, which is part of the John o’ Groats Trail.

Absolutely NO.
We've walk through many a golf course. There's only ever been a few golfer's playing on it.
So NO. There's to many already.
