After more than four years as Ramblers Scotland’s director, Jess Dolan will move on this summer to a new role leading the Scottish Government’s equalities unit.
Vanessa Griffiths, Ramblers GB’s chief executive, said: “Since she joined in February 2015, Jess has been a terrific director of Ramblers Scotland. We will really miss her vision, determination and drive in our team.
“She has led the Scottish team to develop and deliver some great work - in particular the Walk Leadership project, the embryonic Young Adult Development work, the forthcoming Mapping Scotland’s Paths project and the Out There campaign. She’s also offered fantastic support to areas and groups, Scottish Council Executive Committee, volunteers and members.
“I will particularly miss her great analytical mind, campaigning zeal and self-deprecating sense of humour.”
Jess said: “While I’m sad to go, I am pleased to be leaving behind an organisation that is in great shape, with a strong Scottish executive committee and a growing reputation for successful delivery of major projects and campaigns.
“I am excited for the Ramblers’ future, especially the forthcoming technological improvements that includes new apps, Insight Hubs, online volunteer platforms and a new website to better showcase our work.”
Jess will be with us until the end of June, and the recruitment process for her successor is under way.
The deadline for applications is Sunday 12 May – ahead of interviews in Edinburgh on Thursday 16 May. The job pack is here.
