+ The fabric feels fairly robust, but is slightly stretchy to aid freedom of movement. Unlike some other 2.5-layer jackets, it doesn’t feel clammy either. It also has pit zips and a neat-fitting hood, though the zips are only one-way and the peak of the hood is laminated rather than wired. However, it is easy to adjust and moves well with your head, offering good face protection.

- We found the cut to be extremely slim, particularly in the chest. Sizing up didn’t help – it was then voluminously baggy in other areas, like the shoulders and upper arms. We also found the two hand pockets a bit small and awkwardly placed, as they were impeded by a rucksack hipbelt.

VERDICT: Light but robust, this is a well-made jacket with solid waterproof performance, decent comfort levels and a neatly-designed hood. The trim fit is better suited to slim, wiry types though.
