Route Summary This route follows the Esk Valley from Danby to Commondale, then loops back via some of the quietest moors in the North York Moors National Park, taking in a poignant monument to two local shepherds who lost their lives in WW1.

Walked by group of 4. Route mostly easy to follow with the exception of the section from the Memorial onto High Moor where there is no distinct path and some form of G.P.S. system is needed in order to follow the route, which was heather bashing.
