Farleton Knott

Difficulty Leisurely

Walking time 3 hours 30 minutes

Length 11.4km / 7.1mi

Route developer: Neil Coates

Route checker: Tiffany Van Der Sande

Start location Moss Side on A65 E of Jct 36 on M6, LA6 1PF
Route Summary Farleton Knott is a bulky eminence of limestone near Carnforth. This aspect disguises the true nature of the hill as a fine area of limestone pavement, with huge views to all points of the compass. Approach via an old canal and return beside a river.

This excellent walk comes with very clear instructions. There are a lot of paths on the Fell so the author is to be congratulated on choosing a route which can be described correctly across the top of the hill. The only down side is the noise from the M6 on the first part of the walk.
