This is a good walk with plenty of variety, open country with good views, farmland, urban park, town centre, canal towpath, woodlands, riverside path are all included. The five locks and Saltaire are both worth a visit in their own right. There is good public transport to Saltaire (and to Bingley) and Bingley is a suitable place for a half way refreshment stop as well as what is available in Saltaire. All not flat the steep parts seem to be on roads. The surface varied and I found it muddy in places. A walk I highly recommend.

Really good clear instructions, thanks. Reccy'ed it last week on a cold sunny day, a very pleasant walk, nothing difficult, just rather muddy by the River Aire on the way back (but we have had rather a lot of rain). Will be doing the walk on a Sunday with a group from Liverpool and will have plenty of time at the end to explore Salts Mill and Saltaire.
