Fundraising at the Ramblers

How we raise funds to support our charitable work

The Ramblers is the only charity dedicated to removing barriers to walking and to preserving and improving the paths, tracks and trails we all love.  So your support and generosity is vital in helping us put the simple pleasures of walking in nature within everyone’s reach.

How we raise funds

Telephone calls

You may be contacted by telephone on behalf of the Ramblers. We make telephone calls to welcome and thank our supporters, as well as to keep you updated about our work and the ways you further support our work.

You may be contacted by a member of the Ramblers staff team or by someone working on our behalf at our fundraising agency Stratcom.  Our fundraisers will always tell you their name, that they’re calling on behalf of the Ramblers and that they work for Stratcom. They will call you from telephone number 020 3151 0257.  You may also receive a confirmation email from our fundraising agency Stratcom after the call. If you do the email will be sent from: RamblersMembership@Stratcomuk.com

Face to face fundraising

You may meet our fundraisers out and about in places such as country shows, farmers markets and outdoor gear shops. If you come across one of our stands, we hope you have a great experience talking to one of the team.

Team members will all wear Ramblers clothing and a Ramblers ID badge which will say they work for Working 4 Wildlife or Altru on behalf of the Ramblers.

Our fundraising team are focused on recruiting support for the Ramblers by direct debit. They can’t accept other payments like cash or cheques.

Our commitment to good practice

Our fundraising teams are provided with training to understand the Ramblers and fundraising best practice. We expect the highest standards and monitor activity to ensure that our representatives adhere to the Code of Fundraising practice as set out by the Fundraising Regulator, the body that regulates charity fundraising activities.

We strive to ensure that your experience of the Ramblers is a positive one. We will always work to ensure you are kept informed, feel respected and know the difference your support makes as outlined in The Ramblers' Supporter Promise

Dealing with complaints

We know that things don’t always go to plan. If get things do go wrong, it’s important we know so we can find out what happened, understand why, and prevent a reoccurrence.

If you have a complaint, please email ramblers@ramblers.zendesk.com or telephone 020 3961 3232

We will respond to you as quickly as possible and try to resolve the issue promptly. Sometimes things may take a little longer if we need to ask our internal experts for advice and guidance.  We will always keep you updated on what is happening.

Resolving your issue

If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction you can ask the Fundraising Regulator to consider it. All the contact information you need to make a complaint can be found on the Fundraising Regulator website

Expand the freedom to roam

Help us to expand the freedom to roam. It is one of the biggest things we can do to increase access to the outdoors for everyone.
