Our promise to you, our amazing supporters

The Ramblers relies on the generosity of its supporters. That’s why we put you at the heart of everything we do.  

Whether you give your time, money, or voice, we’ll strive to ensure your experience with us is a positive one. That you’re always kept informed, feel respected and know the difference your support makes.  

This is our promise to you:  

 

We will be open, honest, and transparent about how your money is spent.  

At all times, we pledge to be clear about our charitable aims, how we work, how we are funded and how your donations help.  

For every £1 we receive, 84p is spent on protecting access to green spaces and the paths, tracks and trails that lead us to them, as well as making sure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of walking.

We will be thoughtful and treat you with respect

We will never pressure you to donate. We will respect and honour any decision you make on the nature of your support and the communications you receive from us. We will always fully consider the appropriateness of any contact we make with you and do everything in our power to ensure you remain in control of your support.

We will protect your data and keep your personal information safe. 

We take our duty to look after your data very seriously.  We adhere to the UK General Data Protection Regulation Act (2018) and any personal information you share with us will be treated with the greatest sensitivity and confidentiality. We will never sell your information to any other organisation. 

We sometimes work with carefully selected external organisations to help us contact you or process donations on our behalf. In these cases, we set up strict guidelines to look after your data.

We will maintain the highest fundraising standards

We are members of the Fundraising Regulator and are fully accountable to the Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and our own high standards.  The Fundraising Promise lays out our commitments to people who donate money to us. We will ensure our fundraising practices and principles are regularly monitored, reviewed, updated and improved. 

When we work with third parties to help us deliver our charitable objectives, we will ensure they always comply with fundraising regulations, as well as this Supporter Promise. Training will always be provided, and their work will be monitored. We will also respond swiftly to any issues which are not aligned with our values and the high standards we set for anyone working on behalf of the Ramblers. We will protect vulnerable people

We are fully aware that our fundraising activities will lead to us engaging with some people who are vulnerable or in vulnerable circumstances. Our obligation to protect these people is of the highest importance. If we ever suspect someone may be vulnerable, they will be treated in accordance with our Vulnerable Person Policy and the guidance set out by the Institute of Fundraising on Treating Donors Fairly.
