Around 60,000 Ramblers group walks take place every year. Whether you are looking for a short urban stroll or challenging walk in the mountains, there is a Ramblers group walk for you! Thanks to our wonderful volunteer walk leaders, a Ramblers walk takes place on almost every day of the year somewhere in Great Britain - across every type of terrain, landscape and level of difficulty.
We know it’s important to offer our walk leaders the right support, to help you develop the skills and confidence you need to lead fun, inclusive and welcoming walks.
Since 2017 we have been developing our Walk Leadership project in Scotland. Now, thanks to support from players of the People’s Postcode Lottery, we are expanding the project across England and Wales.
On these pages you can find FAQs, guidance and learning opportunities to support you – whether you are taking your first steps as a volunteer walk leader, or you’re leading your fiftieth group walk!
