The Wealdway
This is part one of the long-distance walk from just south of the Thames River to the English Channel. We plan to walk about 20 miles over two days with a hotel stop-over at the Premier Inn, Tonbridge North, taking a taxi between starting/finishing points. Ramblers are welcome to join us for both or either days, but we do need to know who is joining us in order to book taxis and confirm meeting points. The current best price for a twin room is £72. Prices change daily. Please make your own booking.
Friday 21st June: 10.00am park/ meet near St. Mary's church, Grange Rd. Platt, TN15 8NE.
Taxi to Sole Street railway station for the start of the walk (£7.50 each if 4 sharing a taxi).
10 miles to Platt. Packed lunch/drink needed. Arrive back at Platt about 4.00pm and drive to Premier Inn in Tonbridge, or drive home.
Lee and I have booked into the Premier Inn, Tonbridge North.
Saturday 22nd June: 9.30 am taxi/bus to Platt (leave cars, hopefully for free at Premier Inn) and start walk from Platt back to Tonbridge. If driving from home park as above in Platt.
13 miles. Packed lunch/drink needed. Arrive back in Tonbridge about 5.00pm.
Both days will be leisurely in order to take in the views and visit pubs, if open.
