Isle of Wight Ramblers are one of ten finalists in this competition. Public Voting opened in February and the winners will be announced at the end of March.
The Island has spectacular coastal and countryside walks. We offer a range of walks to suit a leisurely pace or more challenging day walks. We have two groups providing walks and social events.
Our Area campaigns for better access and assists the local authority in providing a high standard of footpaths. Over the last ten years we have raised over £150,000 to improve rights of way. Our Donate a Gate scheme has raised £120,000 and replaced over 270 stiles with gates, connecting communities and improving countryside access.
Our new coast path is gradually being implemented by Natural England. This is part of the 2700 mile King Charles III England Coast Path.
We provide walks for everyone along with socials and holidays. New members are always welcome and we will ensure that you soon become acquainted with everyone. Newsletters are sent by email and placed on our local website www.iowramblers.com. There is all the information needed if you wish to Donate a Gate. You can also view local walking videos.
New volunteers are very welcome and we are happy to provide the necessary training and support.
