Overview

From parking (see below) proceed up the old Ayr road A77 to East Renfrewshire golf club and continue through the grounds to Pilmuir Road & onto Malletsheugh Road. Cross this road on to old farm road to Netherplace Road and proceed along the path and roads in Westacres to Cadoc Wood.Thereafter continuing to the Ayr road down towards Cathcart Castle Golf Club, through the grounds & onto Greenbank Gardens.Travel along Old Drove Road to Humbie Road. Then up Titwood road into Hazeldene doing a loop around the culvert. Then continue past  Old Mearns Kirk. Proceed along Newton Grove to Lanrig Lane to Mearns Wood and back to start at Mearns Primary school.

Eastwood Grade B+

As some parts of the walk can be muddy, gaiters and boots are recommended.

The total length of this walk is 15 1/2 miles, however, there is the option to turn off at 3, 6, 9 and 12 miles, should any walkers not wish to complete the full distance. 
Weather permitting, we will schedule in 10/15 minute breaks at approximately 3, 9 and 12 miles. We will also have a 20-30 minutes lunch break at approximately 6 miles.  There are toilets facilities in Greenbank gardens, should anyone require a comfort stop. This will depend upon National Trust opening times
