Join us on this figure of eight in a lesser known part of the New Forest. The morning walk is a little over 6 miles, taking in heath and forest and , yes you guessed it, a few muddy bits so walking poles are probably advisable. We will take time to catch our breath at the top of Stagbury Hill, one of the highest points in the Forest before making our way back across Cadnam Common to our lunch time stop at the Empress of Blandings Pub.
The afternoon walk is an easier walk of just under 4 miles. If you like rhododendrons, this is the walk for you. We pass through a whole forest of them before returning back across Copythorne Common to the pub.
Lunch is at the Empress of Blandings or a picnic nearby. Please have a look at the menu on empressofblandings.co.uk and let me have your menu choices by 5.00pm on Wednesday 15th May.
There are 3 stiles in the morning. The walk is a bit longer than normal and has a few bits of road walking, mainly to the pub and back!
