We are the Winchester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Starting at the car park at Pepperbox Hill on the A36 Romsey to Salisbury road we head south west across very pretty countryside, with lovely views across the Avon Valley, to the small town of Downton where we will have our lunch. After lunch we return to the car park via another route.
This is the walk I had to cancel in February.
Some tracks may be slippery so the use of walking poles is recommended if you use them.
Please arrive in good time for a 10am start and let the leader know in advance if you are coming. We may start early if all participants have arrived.
Optional pub lunch at the Bull at Downton. Please let the leader know by 6pm on Wednesday 1st May if you will be lunching at the pub as I need to confirm numbers. No need to preorder.
Car park on east of A36. Signposted Pepperbox Hill. Please take care when turning right as this is a very busy road.
