This walk takes us from Herriotts Bridge to West Harptree, Hinton Blewett, Nanny Hurn Lane and Burledge Common. The first part of the walk is level and can be wet and muddy in damp weather. An easy walk along a track takes us to a back lane and through small paddocks until we take a good climb. This section now has steps and a handrail to help you to a great view point, Prospect Stile. Through lanes we reach Hinton Blewett where the pretty village green offers us a resting area. Next we walk through well tended pasture towards Cameley and climb again up Nanny Hurn Lane, (the only place in England called Nanny Hurn). Again on the high ground we can enjoy views across the Chew Valley and enjoy a descent via the site of an ancient hill fort. The ground here is very uneven so its time to be careful in your step. Please note: if cattle are turned out for the summer we may detour slightly from this description.
