Setting off from Overton Berry Down Playing Fields, we’ll head cross country along scenic footpaths, through quaint villages with a mixture of open countryside and woodland. The first half of the walk mostly follows the Wayfairers Way. After a coffee break at Deane, we’ll venture on through Steventon (birthplace of Jane Austen), stop for lunch in Nutley and then continue to Bentworth where we’ll have a quick afternoon break before finishing the walk at the Public Gardens, Alton. Approximately 9 hours walk.
This a very long walk over sometimes difficult terrain. Please be confident that you are sufficiently fit and not carrying any injuries that may prevent you completing the walk.
Our walk will include a 10 minute coffee stop, 20 minute lunch stop, 10 minute afternoon stop. Please bring your own drinks, snacks, lunch and plenty of water.
Wear clothing to suit the weather and footwear to suit the terrain. If we start on a sunny morning we will be walking into the sun. All the paths are uneven and can be slippery with mud.
