Overview

Meet at 10:30 at Bedwyn Station. Nearest Post Code SN8 5RD. 5.8 miles, ascent 40m (135 ft). The walk begins with a stretch of the K & A towpath eastwards before turning north and ascending open land. We then descend through pasture and coniferous woods to the excellent Three Tuns in Bedwyn for lunch for those who want it before another 1/4 mile back to the station. (On current timetables only rush hour trains go direct to Bedwyn: all others have a change in Newbury. Start time for this walk would be 10:45 to coincide with the arrival of the 10:02 from Reading. Return trains are at 10 minutes to the hour, again changing at Newbury. (Train times may be subject to timetable changes.)
