Overview

We start the walk from the delightful village of Braceborough and head south into Shillingthorpe Park. Trees have swallowed what little remains of Shillingthorpe Hall, a fine mansion that once housed a group of psychiatric patients, the most illustrious of whom was the occasionally demented King George III. We then pick up the Macmillan Way to the village of Greatford, from where we follow the footpath across to King Street and continue along the bridleway, Long Walk, to the outskirts of Langtoft and on to Baston where we will stop for lunch at the play area.

Our homeward route takes us west to the hamlet of Wilsthorpe and along field edges back to Braceborough.

Since the walk goes through several ploughed fields please use poles if you have them. Depending on the weather conditions at the time of the walk some additional road walking may be introduced.

Dogs are accepted on this walk.  However, they must be under tight control and on a lead at all times (particularly as its lambing season).
