Our easy path follows the old Wye Valley rail route through the Tidenham Tunnel to the outskirts of Tintern. Here we turn up the valley side to reach the Offa’s Dyke path. Yes, this section is steep and strenuous but the effort is worth it when we reach the Devils Pulpit viewing point looking over the Abbey in Tintern. Simply spectacular! When we have lunched and recovered, we proceed along Offa’s Dyke path past lovely houses, gardens and views to return to the carpark. Maybe via a cafe or pub.
Toilets are available in the Castle car park approx 300m from start point.
Please bring a packed lunch
