This is a figure of eight walk that starts at the Car Park near St Chad's Water. It is a walk of around 6 miles with very little ascent or descent. The walk will begin at the same time and place as the short walk scheduled on the same day. The short walkers will leave to return to the start at the cross over point.
The walk starts at the local nature reserve of St Chad's water, it goes along the Mid-Shire way before following the River Derwent to reach the start of the Derwent Valley Heritage Way. It then returns to the start via Shardlow.
The free car park is situated opposite St Chad's Church on Wilne Road.
