A hilly walk at a moderate (and at times brisk pace on the level) but including some quite strenuous climbs up Whiteleaf Hill, Pulpit Hill-Fort, Beacon Hill (optional) and Coombe Hill where we will have a final rest to celebrate our achievement at the Boer War Memorial landmark. We will stop several times to admire spectacular views (depending on weather). Loos at Buckmoorend Farm Shop and the Plough at Cadsden, we will stop at both for refreshments. Bring a packed lunch, (or purchase food from the Farm Shop) to be eaten either on the Grangelands and Rifle-range Nature Reserve or at the top of Pulpit Hill Iron-Age Fort. Some good views of Chequers. This is another opportunity for some very steep hill-climbs before the seasonal temperatures get too hot.
Well behaved and managed dogs allowed.
