We are the Southwell Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

This is a moderate 10 mile walk from the Longshaw Estate visiting Upper Burbage Bridge, Higger Tor, Hathersage and Padley Gorge. The walk is full of contrasts including open moorland, craggy outcrops, fields, woodland and river valleys with only one or two stiles.
Please contact the Leader to let them know that you are coming on the walk. Please leave your name, contact telephone number and email address. Please also state whether you intend going to the designated meeting place or directly to the start of the walk. This will help ensure that you are not left behind. This should not be regarded as “booking a place on the walk.”
If you later find that you cannot come on the walk, please notify the Leader as soon as possible in order that the group is not waiting for you to arrive on the day.
There will be refreshment stops, and a lunch-time break, so bring some food and drink.

Southwell Leisure Centre long stay car park, off Nottingham Road, Southwell (A612). It is recommended that you park in the lower Leisure Centre part of the car park, as the upper car park closes early on a Sunday.
National Trust Longshaw Estate car park (S11 7TZ). NT members can park free in this car park; non-members must pay. Alternatively there is free parking at The Fox Inn nearby.
