Wingfield Manor is a ruined medieval manor house in which Mary, Queen of Scots was imprisoned. It is owned by English Heritage but is not open to the public as it is an unsafe site. Distant views of it are very impressive.

Crich village is the home of Crich Tramway museum and Crich Stand, a memorial to the Sherwood Foresters (Nottingham and Derbyshire) Regiment who died in both World Wars.
