A challenging but rewarding walk with fantastic views. The walk starts at Glenkirk, at the end of the Glenholm road. After a short walk further up the valley to Holms Waterhead, there is a fairly steep climb upto Leishfoot Hill and on upwards to Culter Fell, from where wonderful views open up in all directions. It is then realtively easy going on to Chapelgill Hill via King Bank Head before heading back down to Glenkirk.
This is a joint walk with Tweeddale Ramblers
The ascent to Culter Fell is fairly steep but steady.
There are a couple of fences to climb over.
The final descent is short but steep, and poles are advised here.
