Overview

Pre-registration not available for this walk - Just turn up on the day.

A delightful, moderately paced 11 mile / 17.7 km walk in a little known area of the North Downs.  Includes a mix of open fields, woodland, the North Downs ridge, extensive areas of newly planted vineyards and pretty villages including Cobham. Many fine views across open land and lovely bluebell displays in the wooded sections. Hilly terrain for much of the walk.

Paths and fields now drying out fast though a few muddy patches may still remain by Saturday.

No toilets at Cuxton Station.

Route: Follows the North Downs Way for majority of the day - through fields, woodland and vineyards as we make our way to the villages of Henley Street, Luddesdown and, nearing the end of the walk, Cobham with its fascinating church and pub mentioned in Dicken’s  Pickwick Papers. Some well maintained stiles on route.

Lunch Stop: Picnic with refreshment opportunities later in Cobham.

Meet at Cuxton Station at 10.10.

Travel: St Pancras 09.20/Stratford 09.27 - Hi-Speed Southeastern Ramsgate train - changing at Strood (arr 09.54) to 10.03 Southeastern Paddock Wood train arr 10.07.

Ticket/Fare: Super Off- Peak Day Return to Rochester - £25.90/Railcard £17.05 - note: Freedom Passes cannot be used on this train.

Finish: Sole Street Station at about 5.00
