We will walk the western side of Llyn Brianne on forestry tracks to a point a mile before Soar y Mynydd. Then turning south west climbing steadily to 400 metres. We then turn south to see the spectacular Doethie Valley laid out before us. All down hill now following the river. One treat before we finish is a magnificent waterfall crashing down through the rocks and trees. That is unless we have a heat wave between now and starting the walk. Unlikely.
I think this 11 mile walk can be considered as Energetic. mainly due to its length. Most if not all of the climbs are long and steady. However, whereas the forest tracks are easy underfoot, care is needed walking down the valley as it`s a grass track and waterlogged in places. So waterproof boots and walking poles are recommended. It also needs noting that there two gates that need to be climbed as they are chained and locked.
Lambing season so sorry no dogs, except assistance dogs.
