We will begin this walk heading South West towards the Kincardine Bridge, starting the first of two four mile loops centered on Culross. During the first loop we will visit a grave referred to as the Culross plague grave, also a ruined church graveyard with interesting headstones dating back to the 1800,s.
Although there is a slight climb on the first loop, it is no more than 60m, and is easily dealt with. Poles are not really required, however boots would be an advantage.
The second loop is flat, and takes us around the perimeter of the Torry Bay Nature Reserve. At the farthest point we will have a good view of the bridges over the Firth of Forth. Hopefully we will be lucky enough to spot some seabirds making use of the reserve.
Please contact the walk leader, Phil on 07717 578720 to let him know where you will join us on what promises to be an interesting walk.
Culross village is worth the visit on its own, so the intention is to allow an extended lunch break to enable you to explore Culross between the two four mile loops.
The facilities in Culross are very good, including public toilets and a good cafe.
