We will park in the main carpark at Dumfries House and walk along a good track towards the A frame where we will stop for a tea break. There is lots of information on the boards at the location of this old mine. We will then retrace our steps for 1/2 mile and follow the Lugar Water to take us to Ochiltree. Again the paths are very good apart from 1 small area where the bridge was washed away in the January storms. This can be negotiated by a small diversion. When we reach Ochiltree village we will head towards the Community Hub where we can sit outside to have our lunch and buy a coffee or some of their great baking. Only food bought on the premises can be eaten inside the building.
We will walk back toward Dumfries house via the same route.
The walk is approx 8 Miles on undulating paths, some people may find walking sticks helpful on the short ascends.
