Leave carpark crossing river past Thorneyholme Hall, cross river again to Root Hill and along to Closes Barn. Follow river past Mountain Rescue Centre to Information Point and along Losterdale Brook to Trough Barn and Trough House. Over Whin Fell along Ouster Rake path to Brennand Farm and down through to Whitendale. Return via Foot Holme following River Dunsop to carpark. Risk assessment: Muddy through fields. Some stiles. Livestock on route.
