Overview

Explore the Derwent reservoir in this walk, starting in Edmundbyers.  We climb up to Muggleswick Park with its open views across the Derwent Valley before descending to Eddy's Bridge and the Derwent Dam. We then walk along the lakeshore to Pow Hill Country Park before returning to the starting point.

Park at the side of the road behind the Derwent Arms pub in Edmundbyers. This road is the B6306, signposted to Blanchland. Coming from the Tyne Valley, take the A68 south, turning right just beyond the Manor House Inn towards Edmundbyers. As you enter the village, take the right fork and look for the back of the Derwent Arms on your left. Park on the road next to the green.
