Overview

An easy walk featuring woods and water! Bluebells may still be lingering on the slopes. Be advised that when recced the river had overflown at one foot bridge resulting in a crossing similar to a shallow ford for a few yards. Good strong boots/wellies  are advised if you don't want to risk wet toes!'

Coffee stop at Bothamsall church.

If you need to contact the leader on the day of the walk you can call them on 07434873811.

Please register for this walk on Newark ramblers website where you will also find details of our car share scheme.

Please read the following message from the walk leader….

As perhaps to be expected after Sunday’s deluge the waters surrounding the Eastern footbridge has risen to a depth of 6inches(approximately ankle height?}.

If the water level has dropped sufficiently by Wednesday the walk could take the route originally planned(A)

Plan (B) would be to walk and inspect the Eastern footbridge and then if flooded we would reverse a short distance to the Western footbridge and on to Bothomsall. We would return by the route or by a variation that would involve about ¾ mile of minor road walking.

Unfortunately  the B route does not have the high bank of Bluebells and does retrace a portion of the outward trek.It would be about 5.7 miles.
