Overview

Our route takes us from Acton Town station via the woods and gardens of Gunnersbury Park to Kew Bridge, then along the Thames Path, Grand Union Canal and Brentford Lock to Syon Park.  After lunch we continue through the park to the Thames, then cross over Richmond Lock to follow the river eastward to Kew Gardens station. 

Generally easy terrain but at a moderate pace.  A few sections of road walking and some steep steps. Several drop out points. Toilets at Acton Town station, Syon Park and Kew Gardens station.

Lunch:  Syon Park:  cafe or picnic.

Train:  Acton Town station (Zone 3) is served by Piccadilly/District lines.  Return from Kew Gardens station (Zone3/4) served by District line and the Overground.
