Overview

Houghall Woods

The walk has two woods, bluebells and a river and is about 5 miles. We will walk from the car park of Amaani at the Pump House and walk through Houghall Woods, then a short urban walk to reach the river. We will then take the lower path in Pelaw Woods up to Old Durham walled garden. We will then head back down to the river and follow it back to the car park.

There are a few hills, one steep but short and there are a couple of minor roads to cross. There may be a bit mud in the wooded areas depending upon the amount of rain we get, however, it was minimal when I did the recce.
