This is a 10.5 mile walk, starting in Lamberhurst, which saviours the outstanding features of the Scotney Castle Estate and a section alongside Bewl Water, the largest reservoir in the south east.
We begin by walking across a sports field, before we pass through a hedge onto Lamberhurst Golf Course, so watch out for flying balls!. Passing through woodland, we soon start to ascend through the wonderful landscape the National Trust owned Scotney Castle Estate, where will get a glimpse of the castle itself, from there we make our way to the edge of Kilndown.
After passing through more woodland, we reach the busy A21, where there is a very small stretch alongside the road, before we head down to Bewl Water. When we reach the waters edge, we join the Sussex Border Path, we which follow until just before the end of the dam wall, take care on this part as there will lots of lycra clad cyclists whizzing past us.
After our snack break picnic lunch stop by the water, we then head away from the water, meandering back to Lamberhurst via Hook Green, where the Chequers awaits, for the obligatory post walk drink.
