This classic walk takes us through one of Derbyshire‘a finest limestone dales and along the river Bradford, passing through the village of Alport, which was once a lead mining and smelting centre of great importance. Expect a good showing of spring flowers and the typical birds of the dales. The Bradford is a good place for spotting trout in the clear waters.
Bring a packed lunch. We will meet at Moor Lane car park, which is a small car park located close by the Limestone Way, to the north of Middleton by Youlgreave. This car park has recently been elevated to ‘pay and display’ by the Peak District National Park Authority. There are no public toilets on this route.
