Overview

Context / Terrain: this undulating walk takes places in the Mortimer Forest and includes tracks, country lanes and fields. It passes through Richards Castle which has both a church and ruined castle. The twelfth century church sits high above the village and is situated next to one of the earliest Norman Marcher castles. During the walk on a clear day there are extensive and pleasing views to surrounding countryside /  hills - Black Mountains, the Malverns, Clees including Abberley Clock tower some 17 miles distant.
