Overview

A moderate to strenuous hike through the open downland of the South Downs with sweeping views throughout. There are three steep climbs totalling 670 metres of ascent. The path is wide and easy underfoot. There is no cover, a consideration for sunny or wet days.

There are two dropout points, Southease Station after the first hill, and Glynde Station after the second.

Lunch is a picnic at or near the Youth Hostel at Southease. There are toilets and refreshments at the hostel. There is scope for a second refreshment stop and toilets at Glynde.
