Overview

This walk follows one of the Old Coach road routes from England to the Meirionnydd coast. Using buses from Talybont to start at Bontddu the route follows a steepish ascent via a woodland path & minor road to Banc y Fran. Then a grassy ascent which steepens as the route approaches the top of the ridge of the Southern Rhinogydd.  The descent to the N from the ridge brings the route to the picturesque Pontscethin stone bridge & then W to near Cors y Gedol. The descent then continues via a woodland path alongside the Afon Ysgethin to Talybont.
